HSJGA alumni, Nicole Sakamoto won a tough fought match against 12-year-old Mariel Galdiano in the HSWGA Match Play Championship held at Oahu Country Club.
Mariel took Nicole to the 18th hole all square where Nicole saved a touch par from the front of the green while Mariel learned just how fast and cruel the Oahu CC greens can be when she lipped out her putt to win only to watch it slip off the green where she then two putted to give Nicole a 1-up victory.
Somehow, I think we will be seeing a lot more from both Nicole and Mariel in the future!
