Seniors sign early National Letter of Intent and were honored at the 2010 Asia Pacific Junior Cup Opening Ceremony
Waikoloa, Hawaii, November 10, 2010 — Five (5) Hawaii State Junior Golf Association seniors (class of 2011) signed their early National Letters of Intent today during the 2010 Asia Pacific Junior Cup Opening Ceremony at Waikoloa Kings’ Course.
The players who signed were: Cyd Okino (Honolulu) – University of Washington; Alina Ching (Honolulu) – Pepperdine University; Cassy Isagawa (Wailuku) – University of Oregon; and Ryan Kuroiwa (Aiea) – University of Hawaii at Manoa; Alice Kim (Honolulu) – Gonzaga University.
The National Letter of Intent (NLI) is an agreement that a prospective student-athlete will attend a designated college or university for at least one academic year. Once the contract is signed, the student is no longer subject to further recruiting contacts. The student is also guaranteed their athletic scholarship for one year.
Round one of the Asia Pacific Junior Cup will commence tomorrow, November 11, with the first group teeing off at 9:30am. The course will be open to spectators from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
