The Asia Pacific Junior Cup is celebrating it’s 10th Anniversary this year.  The event started with the vision of Mark Wang, President of Hilton Grand Vacations Club and Mary Bea Porter-King, President, HSJGA, who wanted to foster good will between Hawaii and international players in a fun Ryder Cup style tournament.  The original plan was to have the event rotate back and forth between Hawaii and Japan.  But because of certain logistics of international coordination, the event was kept at Waikoloa Kings’ Course on the Big Island for the past 9 years.  This is the first year Japan is hosting the Cup and the HSJGA is very excited to be traveling as a team to Miyazaki.

About the Asia Pacific Junior Cup:

The APJC is an annual world-class junior golf tournament that recognizes and rewards the ability of young men and women from Hawaii & Japan, while raising awareness and monies for a variety of local charitable organizations.  The APJC is an educational and recreational vehicle by which talented young men and women from different cultures compete in a positive and friendly atmosphere with the potential of creating long-lasting bonds.

About the HSJGA:

The HSJGA was founded in 1998 with its primary goal to be all-inclusive.  The purpose of the HSJGA is to provide an environment where any junior golfer, male or female (ages 7-18), can enjoy golf and progress at his or her own rate from beginner to proficient level while promoting and preserving the traditions and integrity of the game.  By being committed to this purpose, the HSJGA will build its reputation as being the best in preparing juniors for the future.

APJC HSJGA title sponsor: Hilton Grand Vacations Company.
