We would like to announce the arrival of our new Tournament Director, Parker Anderson, PGA!  Parker’s ties with Hawaii were developed during his high school years at Hawaii Preparatory Academy on the Big Island where he graduated in 2000.  He then attended the University of California Santa Barbara and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Economics and Environmental Studies.

Parker started his golf career in Palm Desert, CA where he spent five winters working as an assistant club professional at two world-class facilities, and also participated in The First Tee Program as a Coach.  During the summer, Parker worked as a teaching professional at two facilities in the Midwest, one in Minneapolis and one in Chicago, as well as competed on several professional mini-tours throughout the country.  Parker became a PGA Member though the PGM program in March of 2008.  He spent the last year in Santa Barbara, CA conducting private golf instruction and completed PGA Certification in Instruction and Golf Operations in December of 2009.

“I am very grateful for what I have learned from the game of golf.  I feel that the game can serve as a great teacher, help develop character, instill confidence, and provide building blocks that prove very valuable throughout ones lifetime.  I have joined the HSJGA staff to help promote the game to juniors and to do my best to grow the game in Hawaii and around the world.” -Parker Anderson, PGA

Let’s all join in and give Parker a warm welcome!
