 Congratulations to the following juniors who qualified for the Boys Junior America's Cup Team (Captain Rick Castillo): Taeksoo Kim, Alika Bell, David Fink & Bradley Shigezawa  The Boys JAC will take place on July 28-31 in Vancouver, WA.

 
Congratulations to the following juniors who qualified for the Girls Junior America's Cup Team (Cathy Torchiana): Kristina Merkle, Cassy Isagawa, Marissa Chow & Alina Ching  The Girls JAC will take place on July 28-31 in Canada.
 
Congratulations to the following juniors who qualified for the Eddie Hogans Cup: Justin Keiley, Brett Komoto, Bou-An Fujieki & Corey KozumaThe Hogans Cup will take place on Aug. 15-17 in Portland, OR.

AJGA Exemption Results

 HSJGA Members Alika Bell & Dayna Bersamin were awarded exemptions to the Coca-Cola Junior Championship at Boyne Highlands conducted by the American Junior Golf Association.  This Championship was held July 1-4 in Harbor Springs, Michigan.

 

USGA Junior & Girl's Amateur Championship Qualifiers

 Congratulations to HSJGA Members Alina Ching (69) & Anna Jang (72) for qualifying for the USGA Girls Junior Championship to be held at Hartford Golf Club in Connecticut July 21-26. 

Congratulations to HSJGA Member Justin Keiley who shot rounds of 77-64 to qualify for the USGA Junior Championship which will be held at Shoal Creek Golf Club in Alabama July 21-26.  Keiley's 8-under score tied the course record at Wailea's Old Blue course.  Keiley is now tied with Nobua Serizawa (1987), Dottie Pepper (1992), and Kirk Nelson (2004) as course record holders.

 

PGA Championship Results

 Congratulations to Kristina Merkle and Cassy Isagawa who placed T-14 in the 2008 Junior PGA Championship in Maineville, Ohio! Kristina (73-73-73-76=295) and Cassy (76-69-76-74=295) both ended up at +7 for the tournament.

Attention potential Girls' Junior America's Cup Qualifiers

The 2008 Girls' Junior America's Cup will be held in Cada.  All team members and anyone traveling to Canada must have a current passport.  Please keep in mind that the passport application process can take more than four weeks.  Click here for more information on how to obtain a passport.

2008 Aloha Section Junior PGA Championship

The Aloha Section PGA will be conducting the 2008 Aloha Section Junior PGA Championship at Kaanapali Golf Resort June 27-28.  Click here to register or for more information.  Team and Player of the Year points will be awarded for this Championship.

2008 Hawaii OIJGC District Qualifier

The Optimist Club of Honolulu is now accepting applications for the 2008 Hawaii Optimist International Junior Golf Championship District Qualifier.  This years qualifier will be held on Wednesday, June 11th at Turtle Bay's Fazio Course. Click here for an application.

PGA Junior Tour Series Deadline Extended

It's not too late!!!  The deadline for the PGA Junior Tour Series has been extended to Friday, June 13th.  Don't miss this opportunity to play in a National event in Hawaii and earn HSJGA Team and Player of the Year points.

The PGA of America will be conducting the Callaway PGA Junior Tour Series in June at the Kahili Golf Course on Maui.  This tournament is open to all junior boys and girls ages 13-18.  Click here to register, the deadine is May 26You will earn double major points (see page 39-41 of the 2008 Handbook) for the HSJGA Teams and Player of the Year.  (Winners will earn 400 points!!!)  This is an opportunity that only comes to Hawaii once every four years.  If we don't support it this year, it may never come back again.  Click here for event flyer.
